Descubrí mi interés por la fotografía y el arte durante mis años de estudiante en el Recinto de Río Piedras de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Allí comenzó mi fascinación con el Viejo San Juan de Puerto Rico y cada vez que lo visitaba estaba seguro de llevar conmigo una cámara fotográfica. Me cautivaban los fascinantes colores pastel de las estructuras en el Viejo San Juan y, particularmente, sus encantadores balcones. Con el estímulo de mi esposa, comencé en el 1998 el sitio, Los Balcones de San Juan, con el propósito de compartir mis fotografías del Viejo San Juan con mi familia y amistades. El sitio en la Internet tuvo muy buena acogida y en el 2000 se añadieron nuevas galerías y exhibiciones especiales, un calendario de eventos y exposiciones de arte, y noticias y recursos relacionados. Después de numerosos pedidos, muchas de las imágenes de Los Balcones de San Juan estuvieron disponibles en tamaño de cartel. Espero que mis fotografías documenten y celebren la herencia cultural del Viejo San Juan y traten de impartir la emoción de estar allí. Un visitante comentó: "Los Balcones de San Juan imparte el profundo amor y la admiración que tiene el fotógrafo por su tema. Ha capturado por medio del lente imágenes que reflejan, no sólo el encanto y ricos colores del histórico Viejo San Juan, sino la esencia de uno de los más hermosos y mejor conservados distritos coloniales del hemisferio." ¡Bienvenidos al Viejo San Juan de Puerto Rico!

I discovered my interest in photography and art during my student years at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. I became increasingly fascinated with Old San Juan, and every opportunity I had to visit the old district, I made sure my camera was always at hand. Captivated by the architectural melange of the wonderful pastel-colored buildings of Old San Juan, and particularly, the charming balconies, I have always wanted to document and celebrate through my photographs its cultural heritage and try to convery visually the emotions of being there. Encouraged by my wife, I created in 1998 the website, Los Balcones de San Juan (The Balconies of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico), with the sole purpose of sharing through the Internet a virtual gallery of my photographs of Old San Juan with family and friends. The site was well-received and, as the word spread, new galleries, special exhibits, a calendar of events and art exhibits were added as well as related news and resources. After numerous requests, posters were made available of selected images from the site. A site visitor commented that "Los Balcones de San Juan expresses the photographer's profound love for and awe of its subject. He has captured through the lens images that reflect, not only the charming and rich colors of historic Old San Juan, but the unique spirit that makes the old city what it is: one of the most beautiful and best preserved colonial districts in the Western Hemisphere.."
